Ludmila Panasetska When the mirror was broken to pieces, looked at his son and thought: What bad luck. Something will happen. It was a month before Chernobyl. The blast, on that Friday to 1.20 of the night, threw five hundred times more radioactive material than the Hiroshima bomb. Ludmila, a tailor, was eight months pregnant. She lived with her husband, Dimitri, two kilometers from the nuclear plant, near Pripyat. "I felt a tremor in the house," he recalls. Two days later, his compatriots and other 116,000 were evacuated from the area. Argentina opened their doors without conditions.
