our country 34 years ago I began to travel one most negative and dark phases of our history. Was set in motion the self-styled National Reorganization Process, stopping once again the constitutional rule of law. This intervention resulted in thousands of people were detained, tortured, murdered and disappeared or forced into exile, attempting in this way against Human Rights. During this period, were carried out heinous acts such as the suppression of individual liberties, the dissolution of Congress, the removal of members of the Supreme Court, the involvement of labor unions and universities, the prohibition of the activity party and the censorship of the media.
The coup also overpowered various institutions, including our public universities, undermining the Argentine educational system, not just restricting entry to her and tariffs, but also hamper their normal operation.
Autonomy was violated, the co-government bodies surgery, the extent displaced censored voices, students and teachers, chased out, these principles that inspired the reformers in 1918, and that this heinous coup covered with a cloak of shadows.
After these dark years after the return to democracy by the hand of Raul Ricardo Alfonsin, our country begins the longest period of democratic stability in history, failed to carry out the trial of the military juntas of unique characteristics in the world.
As law students we can not ignore or stop fighting for many of the goals that we have not yet achieve, because even when we choose democracy as the only way of life, we know that we have a long way to go and to win rights.
At a time when the proper functioning of the institutions of the Republic and the division of power are illegitimate, and many of the political and social rights are violated, we must primarily strengthen and consolidate democracy.
Today, on the Bicentennial of the country, we are obliged to keep alive the memory, in people, in stories, in everyday living and living with a cruel past, because only we can remember that this is not repeated NEVER AGAIN.
